The new models in the DuBois & Fils DBF006 series are powered by the original automatic Bidynator movement from FELSA. The 4007 N movement was built in the 1950s. DuBois et fils is once again making these precious witnesses of the Swiss watch industry accessible to everyone who appreciates beauty and the highest quality craftsmanship. The movements were disassembled, cleaned, checked, oiled and adjusted by expert staff. THE HISTORY OF THE BIDYNATOR
Unlike today, in the middle of the last century the Swiss watch market was dominated by small movement manufacturers. They constantly improved the quality of their work and developed new functions. Their innovations influenced the products of major watch brands for decades.
Friedrich Meyer was one of the great innovators of the 1940s and 1950s. In 1942, he developed the first automatic movement with a bidirectional winding rotor at the FELSA watchmaking company in Grenchen. Under the name “Bidynator”, it conquered the Swiss watchmaking industry.
Any lover of fine watchmaking can only be happy to wear a watch whose rare movement illustrates the know-how of 65 years ago.
