Launched under the name Aubert SA by James Aubert in 1925 in the Vallée de Joux which was the creative center of the Swiss watch industry at the beginning of the 20th century. Aubert was an enthusiastic creative watchmaker. With his son-in-law Jean Fillon, they are at the origin of numerous watchmaking innovations, notably the jumping hour. With the tidal wave of quartz at the beginning of the 80s, no one wanted to produce mechanical watches anymore. Peter Hofer, a professional passionate about mechanical watches, took control of the company, gave it the name EPOS and is at the origin of numerous creations. After 20 years at the head of the company, he handed it over to his successors, the Forster-Chonge family, well established in the watchmaking industry. Under their leadership, the Epos brand has experienced great development, exporting very innovative products with excellent finishing and attractive prices throughout the world.
